The luckiest man….married his dream girl….
I loved sharing Laura and Simon’s special day and taking their wedding photographs at Cripps Barn, Bibury.
I’ve known Simon for quite a few years and it was lovely when he contacted me to enquire about the possibility of taking his wedding photographs. When I first met Laura, I know she was just perfect for Simon and would make an amazing bride. I was absolutely delighted that they booked me.
When a bride and groom plans a wedding in February, they don’t have high expectations of lovely weather; and the forecast wasn’t looking good for Laura and Simon’s wedding day. The possibility of rain really didn’t stop Laura enjoying every moment of her wedding day. She was beaming all day.
Laura and her bridesmaids were getting ready at the Four Pillars Hotel, South Cerney. Laura’s hair and makeup was done by her very good friend Nadine; Laura looked amazing. I loved Laura’s Mori Lee dress; such a beautiful style. There was quite a collection of shoes that Laura had bought for the wedding day, but the winning Dune gold shoes were just perfect. Laura’s flowers looked stunning and I loved the special touch of including her great-grandmother’s broach on the bouquet. The colours of the bouquet were beautiful. Christiane from Honey Suckle Flowers did an amazing job of the flowers. We managed to get some lovely bridal photographs on the balcony of Laura’s room and there was even a touch of sunshine but unfortunately it did not last long before the rain started to come.
Arriving at Cripps Barn, the finishing touches to the decorating of the barn were taking place – it really did look amazing. With Simon proposing to Laura on their trip to New York, it was inevitable that the theme would be based on New York. And of course any girl who gets proposed to in New York, definitely deserves a trip to Tiffany’s to buy the engagement ring. I loved the combination theme of New York with English tea. What a perfect combination!
The rain just started as went to take groom photographs so use the lovely oak doors of the barn and countryside as the backdrop. Cripps Barn is so cozy inside, it really didn’t matter what the weather was outside; It was a real shame though that the weather didn’t hold out until Laura was inside; The photograph with Laura getting out of the car in the rain holding on tightly to the umbrella tells the story of the weather.
Laura was beaming walking down the aisle; she look amazing and I could tell Simon was taken back by how beautiful Laura looked. They truly are the perfect couple. The ceremony was beautiful and one of my favourite photographs is shows the smiles on Laura and Simon’s faces as they were announced husband and wife.
I love that the fact that you can be cozy inside in Cripps Barn and it really doesn’t matter what the weather is like outside; it’s just such a cozy wedding venue
After afternoon tea and the speeches, the rain cleared and we were able to go outside for some bride and groom photographs. Laura and Simon were prepared with their wellington boots; love these photographs.
Laura and Simon had a vintage photo booth by Vintage Booth with an open lounge setting – it looked amazing. It was probably one of the best photo booths I’ve seen.
I loved the sparklers! and the amazing party
Laura and Simon’s first dance was to the song The Luckiest Man by Ben Folds from the film About Time that they first watched together.
It was a real pleasure to share Laura and Simon’s photographs with them when they returned from their honeymoon and so glad they brought back lots of happy memories.
