I was delighted when Jayne and Simon booked me to take photographs for their wedding at The Manor Barn, Winterbourne Stoke. Jayne and Simon had found me on Your Perfect Wedding Photographer online directory which is such an amazing source of information for brides looking for a professional photographer. When I met them I knew we were going to get on great and I would love taking their wedding photographs. I hadn’t taken wedding photographs at The Manor Barn before but when I met up at the venue with Jayne and Simon just before the wedding, I loved it.
The Manor Barn is such a perfect wedding venue. I loved the history of the barn. A little bit of history taken from The Manor Farm Website – Manor Farm has been the home of the Turner family since 1946. The Manor Barn is in the curtilage of the historic Grade ll* listed Manor House and is believed to date back to the 18th century and still retains original features including the old Mill machinery, grain bins and old Salisbury based W Carter & Sons clock which was bought in 1875. The barn is beautiful and looked stunning decorated with pinks and whites. One of my favourite areas of the Manor is the beautiful secret garden which is just perfect for special bride and groom photographs. Pippa, the wedding coordinator was amazing and comes high up on my list of wedding co-ordinators.
As it was Bank Holiday weekend and having to travel Southwards on the A303, I decided to set off early on the morning of their wedding. I managed good time so was able to meet up with the bridal party for breakfast. It was a lovely morning with Jayne and her bridesmaids as they got ready at the Stones Hotel in Salisbury. Gemma from Gemma Armstrong Professional Hair and Makeup did an amazing job of Jayne’s hair. I loved the unique way Gemma curled the hair – it looked beautiful. I loved Jayne’s choice of wedding dress from the Organza Room in Amesbury – the style and design was just perfect for Jayne. Jayne looked absolutely stunning.
Elizabeth met up with the guys at Simon’s parents house to take photographs of the groom, best man and ushers getting ready. Elizabeth had a great time with the guys and think it may have been a little entertaining with the guys trying to work out how to do their ties and handkerchiefs. They got there in the end. The guys headed off to the venue to be welcomed by a very heavy storm. Although it came over quite dark at the bride getting ready venue, the storm was definitely worse at The Manor Barn. Elizabeth managed to capture some great photographs of the rain. Luckily it stopped just in time for Jayne to arrive with her father. Jayne and her dad were a little emotional as they walked down the aisle. It was such a beautiful ceremony and lovely to watch. The confetti shower after the wedding was probably one of the longest I have seen – it made some great photographs.
The whole day went really smoothly and such a pleasure to photographs. There was such an amazing mist early evening which made some amazing bridal party fun photographs. Jayne and Simon’s first dance song, ‘ Still into You’ was just perfect. What a beautiful wedding and I was so pleased that Jayne and Simon loved them.
