I am delighted to be invited to the Barnett Hill, Guildford wedding fayre this Sunday 24th September. It’s always a pleasure to exhibit with Paul and Karen at a PMN Wedding Fayre, an established and well organised prestigious wedding fayre.
I love Barnett Hill as a wedding venue. Barnett Hill is a stunning Queen Anne-style country house located just outside Guildford, Surrey. Situated within 26 acres of manicured gardens and grounds. As a wedding photographer, this is my perfect wedding venue. Not only does it have beautiful gardens and grounds to capture some amazing bride and groom photographs but the inside is absolutely beautiful. So regardless of the weather, Barnett Hill is a perfect location for a wedding.
I was very fortunate to be invited to exhibit at Barnett Hill last year and got to meet Kerry who worked there as a waitress. Having a styled shoot of Alice in Wonderland in mind, decided to ask Kerry to be my model as Alice. Being a drama student, Kerry was brilliant as playing the character of Alice. I also got to work with Bex from Beauty Call; such an amazing makeup artist and have loved working with Beauty Call on a number of styled shoots last year. At the end of this blog I will share some of the amazing images. After moving to a new county a couple of years ago, my styled shoots have given me the opportunity to get to know some of the popular wedding venues in the Surrey area, with Barnett Hill being one of them.
This week I am at my annual photography conference organised by the SWPP and attended a session by Laura and Andy of Deans Street Photography and they presented at a masterclass session on how they approach wedding fayres. It prompted me to write this blog; wedding fayre are all about bride and grooms meeting prospective wedding suppliers. When to-be bride and grooms are looking for a photographer, their first question may be about price but this is not always the deciding factor for their choice of wedding photographer. Of course, they want to be re-assured that the photographer has the right skills and has a portfolio that shows some amazing photographs. So providing that the photographer is able to show some fantastic images from previous weddings and their prices are within a range of the bride and groom’s budget, it ultimately comes down to the personality of the photographer. Their chosen photographer will share their wedding day so it is really important that they have a connection and the photographer is able to blend into their style of wedding.
At the wedding fayre on Sunday, I will be doing a live-demonstration of a mini-styled shoot so it will give me the opportunity to show bride and grooms how I take photographs. Sarah from Bridal Boutique in Haslemere will be providing a wedding dress and Gemma of Anaya Design will be providing accessories. Both who are also exhibiting at the wedding fayre too so brides will have an opportunity to view more of their products. I’m also delighted to work with Hayley who has recently graduated from the Surrey School of Makeup. I look forward to sharing images from this photo shoot
I’m going to have an amazing time on Sunday at the Barnett Hill wedding fayre; I hope to see you there!
