“10 Reasons” why I loved taking Emma and Andrew’s photographs at their wedding at Stanton House Hotel, Swindon.
I had an amazing time taking Emma and Andrew’s wedding photographs at Stanton House Hotel, Swindon. Their love for each other is truly magical and loved the all details that made the wedding so special. When Andrew asked Emma to marry him, he wrote down 10 reasons why he loved her and as one of Andrew’s wedding presents from Emma was cards detailing 10 reasons why Emma loved Andrew today and always. So following on with the theme of “10 Reasons” I thought I would base my blog on the 10 reasons why I loved taking Emma and Andrew’s wedding photographs.
So Reason 1…. Special couple with a very special relationship. Getting to know Emma and Andrew during their pre-wedding photo shoot, I made a connection with this couple and knew I would be able to capture some beautiful photographs that would really bring back happy memories of their wedding day at Stanton House Hotel.
Reasons 2 .. Beautiful bride, amazing personality and so kind and caring. Loved taking the bride getting ready photographs. Emma had chosen a Maggie Sottero dress; a wedding dress designer whose strapline is “to fall in love with romance” and Emma and Andrew’s wedding was definitely a very romantic wedding. Emma’s hair and makeup was amazing – it was a real pleasure to work alongside Katherine Jennings Hair and Makeup. Claire Guy, Bridal Specialist also did an absolute fabulous job on the bridesmaid’s hair
The wedding flowers looked amazing and as always a fantastic job by Rachel from the Flower Basket in Swindon. Beautiful flowers as always and was it meant to be when one of the flowers opened out in a heart shape.
There are two moments that really stand out for me when capturing the bride getting ready photographs
The connection between Emma and her little flower girl Scarlett; throughout the day I captured some amazing photographs of Emma and Scarlett. Just before the evening reception we went out to the orchard area of Stanton and I loved the photo of Scarlett’s little shoes; grass stained and the sign of a flower girl enjoying her day.
As a photographer one of my favourite photographs is when the Father of the Bride gets to see his little girl in her wedding dress – a priceless moment! I could tell there was a strong emotional connection between Emma and her dad…there was a few tears..
Reasons number 3 .. the wedding ceremony was so beautiful and I was touched by how Emma and Andrew’s personal messages made the ceremony special. Even the slight chance of rain wasn’t going to stop the outdoor ceremony from going ahead. A couple of my favourite photographs are of the father of the bride shaking the grooms hand and also lifting the veil from the brides face… capturing some amazing moments. The hawk delivered the wedding rings to the best man in perfect timing. And I am sure it wasn’t just the Mother of the Bride who had a tear in her eyes.
Reasons 4 – Some amazing bride and groom photographs. An amazing looking couple, gorgeous sunshine and a beautiful location – the perfect recipe for bride and groom photographs. I love it when a bride and groom love having their photograph taken and don’t mind taking time out of their special day to get some amazing bride and groom photographs. There are so many fantastic locations within the grounds of Stanton House Hotel for bride and groom photographs. I also loved the relaxed photographs of Andrew and Emma as the sun was setting and they just looked so relaxed.
Reasons 5 – There was lots of fun with the wedding archery activity and if I remember rightly the bride beat the groom. Such a brilliant idea for guests to be kept entertained in between the ceremony and wedding breakfast. The weather was amazing and perfect for outdoor activities.
Reasons 6 – More afternoon climbing the tree. The original plan was for the guys to climb the tree but then the bride was up for climbing up too. And then the little flower girl. It was quite entertaining watching them all get up there but once they were up on the tree it made an amazing photograph.
Reason 7 – Special family photographs; within the grounds of Stanton House Hotel is a little tree stump which makes an amazing setting for photographs. Emma, the bride, wanted some special family photographs taken here with bridesmaids, flower girl and her sister. I love these photographs as they are so relaxed but really capture the close bond between Emma, her sister Laura, her flower girl Scarlett and of course her dad.
Reason 8 – An amazing first dance. Emma and Andrew’s first dance ended up with an amazing dirty dancing lift and the safety net of the best man and ushers was definitely not needed.
Reason 9 – Wow! Amazing fireworks provided by Cotswold Fireworks were such a stunning end to amazing wedding day.
Reason 10 – The whole day; from the start at 7am capturing the bride getting ready right up until the fireworks display, Emma and Andrew’s wedding was truly amazing and an absolute pleasure to be able to share their day and capture some amazing photographs that they will treasure forever.
