Wow! What an amazing Disney themed wedding at Norton Park Hotel, Hampshire. Matt had proposed to Jasmin in Disneyland Florida so it was no surprise that their wedding theme would be a Disney theme. Jasmin’s mum had worked so hard at creating the special touches which really brought the wedding theme to life. It was a very subtle Disney theme which focused on the words of Disney. My favourite was ‘Once in a while right in the middle of an ordinary life love gives us a fairytale’. Little did Matt know when he finished his night shift at work and met the new girl, Jasmin, that a few years later she would become his wife. An ordinary life and love gives us a fairytale! Jasmin is a big Disney fan, I asked her what was her favourite disney film was and she told me it was ‘Up’ and although I had not see the film, loved the wedding card box based on the film. In Pooh’s words… capturing Jasmin and Matt’s wedding day I definitely felt the love between these two very special people.
I arrived at Norton Park to find a relaxed Jasmin, hair in curlers enjoying her wedding morning. Jasmin will always be a very special bride to me; she welcome me as her photographer as if I was a friend and made me feel truly part of the bride getting ready preparations. I was quickly introduced to her bridesmaids Storm, Mel, Alex, Luka, Roasme and Ethne. And of course not forgetting little Grace the flower girl who carried the very special sign of ‘Matt her comes your girl’ down the aisle. Matt would definitely be ‘wow’d’ by his bride-to-be.
I loved Jasmin’s choice of wedding dress, it was perfect! Choosing a Stella York wedding dress from Anya Bridal in Droxfieldgt with an American connection was just meant to be for Jasmin. Jasmin’s dress was beautiful but what really stood out for me was when Jasmin’s dress got ripped by the heal of her shoes she wasn’t phased by it on her wedding day; it was about enjoying her day and a rip in a dress was not significant to ruin her day.
I love the old connection with Jasmin’s wedding with her grandmother weddings rings sewn into the garter which was the something borrowed. Jasmin’s flowers were amazing and loved the photograph of Jasmin and her grandfather attached to her bouquet. Listening to the speeches I realised how important Jasmin’s granddad was in her life and was so delighted to have captured the image of them both against Jasmin’s wedding photographs.
With some weddings it can be get very difficult where parents have re-married. In Jasmin’s case this was really not an issue and it was lovely to see both her dad and her step-dad walk her down the aisle. For me as the photographer that was really special as Jasmin and Matt’s wedding was truly about the special people in their life. The bridesmaids looked amazing and love the photograph of the girls walking away from the manor house.
The afternoon reception was lovely and relaxed. The manor house and lake made a perfect location for not only the afternoon reception but some beautiful and stunning bride and groom photographs
It was an absolute pleasure to be able to share Jasmin and Matt’s wedding day and it was such a compliment when Matt said to me just as I was leaving that it wasn’t like having a photographer but a friend. A beautiful couple and an amazing wedding.
