I have had such an amazing 2016! I cannot believe how quick the year has gone. I had the pleasure of photographing 30 weddings and have made some amazing friendships brides. I set myself a challenge of doing a styled bridal shoot a month and am sure I went over and above 12 shoots. I have worked with some fantastic wedding suppliers who I now regard as my friends. I have been delighted and overwhelmed by achieving front cover images on a few bridal magazines. It’s been an amazing and busy year.
After moving to Hampshire over three years ago and investing in Aspire Photography bespoke business training, I have worked so hard at establishing my business in the Hampshire/Surrey counties and am so proud of what I have achieved. After capturing so many beautiful happy events, one of my most memorable photo shoots this year took place last week as a Remember My Baby photographer. This shoot touched me on some many levels and has really made me appreciate my love and passion for photography and what a special gift it is to give to people. I bought the vase on the cover image of this blog as a memorial to that little angel and will fill the vase with flowers each year in memory of that little baby.
As 2106 comes to an end, it’s a time to think about goals for next year and what I would like to achieve for my business. Being a photographer is who I am and not just a job – it’s a lifestyle. This year I feel I haven’t focused enough on me and how I look and feel. Being chosen as a photographer whether for a wedding or portrait, it is such a personal choice and I would love my clients to get to know me better through my ‘About Me’ blogs.
For 2017 I am going to bring my website ‘About Me’ page to life with some lifestyle blogs. I am going to focus on four areas for my page – Fashion, Makeup, Fitness and something I have never done before. Although these blogs are aimed to share my personal journey, it may also help brides or others to achieve their own personal goals. So I am exciting to a launch a new project with some talented experts in their fields:
Fashion Blogger – Snigdha Parijat
A few weeks ago Snigdha contacted me to take photographs for her fashion blog and am delighted that we can work together on collaboration blogs. I will be taking Snigdha’s photographs for her blog in exchange for fashion content for my blog. One of my first fashion blogs will be what I wear as a wedding photographer?
Makeup Artist – Hayley Lovelock Makeup Artist -Surrey
I’ve worked with Hayley on styled shoots and weddings and am inspired by her passion for her business. Hayley is looking to incorporate a series of blogs into her website and approached me to take photographs for her blog so we are going to collaborate to produce some amazing blog content and photographs for our websites. One of my first blogs will be how a photographer makes their makeup last all day when shooting a wedding?
Fitness Coach – Emma Deegan Dance & Fitness Academy
Dancing since the age of two, Emma is such a gifted dancer and runs her own Dance and Fitness Academy. Emma will become my personal trainer next year and am sure will work me hard to keep fit and lose some weight. We will be sharing fitness content. My first blog with Emma will be how I survived her Body Conditioning class and why I chose this particular class?
And lastly each month I want to do something I have never done before and it doesn’t have to be expensive or major. Sometimes the simplest things are always the memorable. It’s about enjoying life and getting the most of it to feel happy and fulfilled. I haven’t thought about my little something in January but maybe produce my own healthy cocktail?
Cannot wait to get started in 2017 and ‘let the flowers bloom’…..
