Finding the balance in love….

Sometimes I can take a photograph and maybe the time isn’t right to share but its time will come!  Love these fashion blogger photographs…

Photographs are part of our memories and will always means something when we reflect on our lives at that point in time when the photograph was taken….

A few weeks ago Snigdna and I had planned a valentines’ day shoot but little did I know that my valentines’ moment was to come crashing down around me.   Sometimes the unexpected happens in our lives…

For the last 18 months I had been setting myself goals for my business and working really hard to make them happen. It was my dream and I was living it. I had become wrapped up in my own little world of weddings and photography.   I was on a mission to prove I could do it. It was too much for my partner and he decided we needed time apart.

So to whom was I proving I was successful? The world of social media and Facebook can provide an illusion of success and happiness. Sometimes our own career, passions for our business can make us lose sight of what is truly important in life. We can all be guilty of taking our relationships for granted.   Maybe my partner Chris was also guilty of not making me feel special, being consumed in his own business and not valuing my passion for my photography business. Balancing relationships and running a successful business can be complex and difficult to get the mix just right.

Being able to put the brakes on and, for a brief moment being able to take a step away from my photography, has given me the chance to evaluate where I was going, what I want in life and what is truly important to me. My photography will always be a big part of who I am. I love creating beautiful photographs and creating memories for my clients, friends and family. I love being part of a bride and groom’s special day and being part of their life at future key moments. It’s a gift I can give but for me I must also remember I need to balance this against running a profitable photography business and making sure I have time for the important people in my life

So things happen for a reason and I’ve had a chance to think about the balance of my photography and being happy in my personal life too.

These photos I took of Snigdna on that day I’m sure for both of us will be memorable in many ways and that day has left us with a special bond that will mean we are friends for life!

Sometimes things happen for a reason…
