New style of portraits for 2012….

My studio has been up and running for almost 8 years and families still love the white background but I think it is time for a change.  My inspiration came from a talk I attended at the SWPP (Society for Wedding and Portrait Photographer”s) conference.  With my daughter Sabrina as a willing model (they love to have their photos on Facebook), I’ve been experimenting tonight with transforming my images into art.

Photography as Art….

The skills of a wedding photographer is not just capturing a great image in the camera, but having the tools to be able to turn an ordinary shot into a wow shot.   I found one of my old ‘average’ looking images and turned into something quite different.

Wedding and Portrait Photography for 2012

After having a great Christmas and New Year, followed by a fantastic holiday in Portugal and then a few days in London on the Wedding and Portrait Photographers annual convention.  I’m looking to put in place some new ideas and include some new albums and other products to my product range.  Look forward to catching up with existing client and new clients in 2012.

Wedding photography for 2012….

It’s amazing how quickly the year goes by and now almost 2012. With a number of wedding already booked for 2012, I’m looking forward to meeting prospective bride and grooms who would love me to take their wedding photographs.

This year my wedding started with Christabelle and Sarah at Cripps Barn, Bibury back in February this year.  It was certainly cold but we did manage to get some photographs taken outside.  I had such a great year taking wedding photographs and thank you to all my bride and grooms for booking me.   Weddings from February to December certainly kept me busy.  Although the weather wasn’t great and I got soaking it wet, Hayley and Steve’s wedding was lovely to finish the year.  It was a lovely feeling to the start of my Christmas break.

It was great to take part in some of the location photo shoots at the SWPP Photography conference in January this year.  It was great to use lighting on location in London on the photo shoot with Joe Photo. I am looking forward to attending this year ago to pick up new tips and products available on the market.

Some of my favourite wedding photographs for 2012 were…

James & Catherine, such an emotional day at Stanton House Hotel, Stanton Fitzwarren.  I look forward to catching up with Catherine and James at Catherine sister, Rachel’s wedding next July.

I love the emotion on Kelly’s face as she hugged her two nieces. I had a fantastic time taking Kelly and David’s wedding photographs in Bradford on Avon in April this year.

December 2011 I was taking photographs of Jo and Gary at their wedding at Cripps Barn, Bibury – it was lovely 12 months on to be taking photographs of their baby boy Tobias.

Being an October wedding, Rebecca and Andy hadn’t expected good weather – how wrong we all were.  The weather was fantastic, the bride and groom great and stunning location at Rockley Manor, Marlborough.  One of my favourite weddings for 2011.

I had a lovely time taking Sharon and Matt’s wedding at the Swan Hotel in Bibury.  It was cold and damp but we still managed to get a photograph of the bride and groom on Bibury bridge – something Sharon particularly wanted.  It was worth getting the bottom of her dress wet for!

Francesca model for me way back when I took my photography degree.  It was a great pleasure to be able to take Davide and Francesca’s photographs at The Four Pillars Hotel, South Cerney.

I had great fun taking photographs with Amaryllis Bridal Shop in Alton.  Laura was a fantastic model and look forward to using the photographs to promote my business in 2012 in the Alton and Farnham area of Hampshire.

Christmas Wedding at Marlborough & Coles Restaurant – Congratulations Hayley & Steve

It was a real pleasure to be taking Hayley and Steve’s photographs at their wedding yesterday.  My last wedding of 2011 and a good start to the Christmas break.  Apart from getting soaked in the pouring rain – last year my last wedding was snow!  I suppose the challenges of the wedding makes it even more memorable.  Hayley and Steve are such a lovely couple and it was lovely to be able to share their special day.

Congratulations Hayley and Steve and I wish you all the very best for your future together  - have fun in America!

Love Jennifer x
